James was born on January 4, 1923 at Bromide to the late Mr. Hollie King and Mrs. Euna Mae (Francisco) King. He departed this life on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home in Healdton.

After James was honorably discharged he returned home for a short period of time before he attended Business College at Ardmore, where he learned to type and took office management classes. They continued to make their home in Healdton and enjoyed traveling and visiting a lot of places in the United States. Delphia's children are Gayle, Brenda, Bobbie, Valerie and Michael. James loved these kids as if they were his own and they all loved him in return.

Delphia preceded him in death on April 2, 2010 and all of his family still continued to get together every Sunday.
James was well known for always having pecan trees in his back yard and loved to share those good crops with all the people in the town and at the First Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of the Healdton First Baptist Church.
