Healdton, OK– Funeral services for James "Jamie" Boyd Knipe, age 73, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at New Beginnings Church in Healdton, with Tommy Savage officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery. The arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Jamie was born on July 9, 1951, to Mr. James Bishop Knipe and Mrs. Enthia "Loree" (Cross) Knipe. He passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Healdton, Oklahoma.
Raised in Fox, Jamie graduated from high school in 1969. He married Glenda Tow on August 22, 1969, at Fox Baptist Church. The couple moved to Okmulgee, where Jamie pursued vocational training in Mechanical drafting. They later relocated to Oklahoma City to work alongside his brother-in-law, James. In 1974, Jamie and Glenda returned to Fox, relocated to Duncan for a number of years and then moved to Healdton where they still reside. Jamie had a successful career brokering oilfield pipe throughout the United States and Mexico, ultimately retiring from Wayne Brown Trucking at the age of 63, where he excelled in sales and operations. Following his retirement, Jamie enjoyed woodworking and fishing while camping at the lake. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at New Beginnings Church/Freewill Baptist.
Jamie is preceded in death by his parents, brother Guy Knipe, sister Judy Edwards, and grandson Christopher Knipe.
He is survived by his loving wife Glenda; daughter Monica and husband Jeff Harvey; son Chris and wife Sonja Knipe; sister Francis and husband Troy Lewellen; grandchildren Jordan and husband Britt Jones, Claudio and wife Keyla Harvey, Della and husband Dakota Taylor, Greg Castillo, Kayli Knipe, Madison and husband Ben Davidson, Zoe Castillo, Josh Harvey, and Brody Knipe; 8 great grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be Greg Castillo, Brody Knipe, Britt Jones, Josh Harvey, Claudio Harvey, Ben Davidson, and Dakota Taylor.
