Velma - Funeral Services for Mr. James "Jim" Russell Presgrove, 80 of Velma are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Velma First Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Glasgow officiating. Interment will follow to New Velma Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
Jim was born December 10, 1941 in McCamey, TX to the late Mr. Sanford Presgrove and Mrs. Mary Francis "Frankye" (Jones) Presgrove. He departed from this life on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in Duncan, OK.
Jim was raised at Countyline where he attended school at Fox and Velma graduating from Velma High School in 1959. Soon after, he attended Cameron University. Jim married Ms. Linda Stewart in June of 1962 at Wichita Falls, TX and together they made their home in the Stephens County area. He worked in the Natural gas industry most of his life at the Velma plant for 43 years. Jim served on the school board, coached and also has volunteered at the food bank. He enjoyed biking, coon hunting, bird hunting, and arrowhead hunting. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and the kids at children's church.
Preceding him in death was his parents and a brother, Scott.
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda of the home; children, Cody Presgrove and wife Suzanne of Duncan, Clay Presgrove and wife Lonna of Lone Grove; and Corie (Presgrove) Davis and husband Richard of Owasso; grandchildren, Peyton Presgrove, Perri Williams and husband Colten, Nacona Presgrove Stewart and husband Jeremy, Casen Presgrove, Callie Davis and Cade Davis; 1 great grandchild on the way; and by a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Casen Presgrove, Cade Davis, Peyton Presgrove, Stacy Presgrove, Shawn Presgrove, and Colten Williams
Honorary bearers will be Lloyd Ely, Danny Crook, Men's Adult Sunday School Class, Johnny Clower, David Harden, Jim Palmer, LD Keenan, Steve Darter, Chris Craven and Jeremy Stewart.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
