Wilson - Mr. James Donald "Jim" Bramlett of Duncan, OK was born January 5, 1938 in Pallestine, TX to the late Mr. James Ernest Bramlett and Mrs. Cora Lee (O'Dor) Bramlett. He departed from this life on July 13, 2017 in Duncan at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 8 days. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Jim attended schools at Fox, Ardmore and Wilson before joining the U.S. Navy in 1955 at the age of 17. He spent a total of 23 years in the military service, retiring in July 1978 as a Master Sergeant, U.S. Army.
Though Texas born, Jim was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooner Football team. It gave him immense satisfaction when Big Red defeated the Texas Longhorns (or any other team, for that matter.) Jim was also a voracious reader, computer enthusiast, inveterate collector of various items and enjoyed playing chess.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helga, whom he married in Butzbach, Germany on November 4, 1960; parents, James and Cora; and half brothers, Richard Kohler and Mike Giddens.
Jim is survived by his sons, Richard Keith Bramlett of Jacksonville, TX and Kevin Lee Bramlett of Garland, TX; daughter, Lora Ann Allmon of Duncan; sister, Judy Lucas of Wilson; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; numerous other family and friends.
