Mr. James Dale Bullard, age 65, of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on April 12, 2025, in Plano, Texas. He was born on December 22, 1959, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Rev. Johnny Dean Bullard, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Alpha (Smart) Bullard.
A funeral service to honor Mr. Bullard’s life is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church, with Johnny Tynes officiating and Rev. David Gardner assisting. Interment will follow at Lone Grove Cemetery. The services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
James Bullard spent his early years residing in various locations due to his father's ministry, including Cushing, Tulsa, Moore, and Warren, Arkansas, before ultimately settling in Lone Grove in 1975. He graduated from Lone Grove High School in 1979. On July 20, 1979, he married Leisa Dewbre in Ardmore, Oklahoma. James had a long and dedicated career at Michelin, from which he retired in 2015.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, James was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He was a talented craftsman, creating beautiful knife art and demonstrating exceptional skills in welding and repairs, reflecting his perfectionist nature. A man of faith, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
James is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leisa Bullard, of the home; their children, Shannon Marie Dutton and husband Matthew Brandon of Mustang, and Joshua James Bullard and wife Shawna of Dickson; grandchildren Brayden Matthew Dutton and Makenzie Marie Dutton, both of Mustang, as well as Connor Lane Bullard and Devin Cole Bullard, both of Dickson. He is also survived by siblings Terri Graham of Duncan and Johnny Dean Bullard, Jr. of Lone Grove, along with a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers for the service will be James Tucker, Les Hale, Mark Oakley, J.J. Hornback, Chano Bargas, Marco Vaco, and Aaron Atkinson. Honorary bearers include George "Bill" Pratt, Clint Keith, Brad Elmore, Kevin Hale, Danny Fraiser, and Joe Ray.
