Mr. James Bobby “J.B.” Newell

Wilson- Funeral Services for Mr. James Bobby “J.B.” Newell, 73, of Gordonville, TX, formerly of Wilson are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday October 14, 2008 at Alexander Funeral Chapel with James Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with the United States Air Force providing Military burial Honors. Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson is in charge of arrangements.

J.B. was born January 1, 1935 in Trousdale, OK to the late John Buster and Mable Lois (Taylor) Newell. He departed this life Friday, October 10, 2008 at his home in Gordonville, TX.

J.B. moved to Wilson in 1949 attending school here. He joined the United States Air Force in 1954 and served honorably until 1968. He served two tours overseas at Guam and England. After leaving the Air Force he was employed as a Telephone Technician, retiring from IBM in 1990. He was first married to the former Ms. Francis Ballard, the mother of his children and then later to the late and former Ms. Ann Blackburn in 1990.

J.B. loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death is his Parents, Brother, Buster Newell, Sister Betty Jean Turner and his wife Ann (Blackburn) Newell.

Survivors include his daughters, Laura Canady and husband Michael of Gordonville, TX, and Kim Kindley of Bedford, TX. Son Bobby Newell of Hurst, TX., 3 Step Children, James Blackburn and wife Pam of Euless, TX, Marilyn Goad of Venus, TX and Randy Blackburn and wife Doris of N. Richland Hills, TX. Son in law, Mike Kindley of Mansfield, TX, 4 Sisters, Viola Ferguson of Ashland, KS, Midge Freytag and husband Jim of Ardmore, Ann Newell of Lewisville, TX and Nancy Newell of Ventura, CA. 3 Brothers, Johnny Newell and wife Karen of Springer, Billie Newell and wife Lany of Ardmore, and David Newell of Denton, TX. Grandchildren, Jonathan Dale Newell, Chelsea Newell, Bobby Ryan Newell, Marissa Newell, Mariah Newell, Brent Newell, Karli Kindley, Mikala Kindley, Brenden Canady and Sean “Tuffy” Canady. Numerous other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Nephews and Honorary Bearers will be his brothers, Johnny, Billie and David Newell and Brother in Law, Jim Freytag.

Family visitation will be Monday evening from 6-7 pm at the funeral home in Wilson.
