Ringling - A celebration of life for Jacque Yvonne (Dillon) Riley, 93, of Ringling, will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling. Ernie Marshall and Lafon Glenn will officiate the service, with interment to follow at Dixie Cemetery, located north of Ringling.
Jacque was born on August 28, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, to the late William Vernie "Shine" Dillon and Lillie Mae (Evans) Dillon. She peacefully departed this life on November 21, 2024, at her home in Healdton.
Raised in the local area, Jacque graduated from Ringling High School. On November 23, 1949, she married Thomas Edison Riley in Healdton, and together they built a loving home, moving frequently for ranch work before ultimately settling north of Ringling.
Jacque dedicated 30 years of her life to the Ringling School Cafeteria, where her exceptional cooking skills were fondly remembered. She was not only a talented cook but also a skilled seamstress, often making clothes for her children. Her love for crafts included creating beautiful quilts and dabbling in painting. Jacque had a passion for gardening, particularly planting flowers that brightened her surroundings.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Larry Wayne "Poncho" Riley, her husband Thomas (who passed on July 15, 1994), her sisters LaRue Griffin and LaZorra Cook, her grandson Caleb Riley, son-in-law Deral Poteet, and daughters-in-law Tammie Riley and Tina Riley.
Jacque's legacy lives on through her children: Vicki Poteet of Healdton, Dale Riley and wife Fran of Courtney, Tina Carpenter and husband Billy of Lone Grove, and twin sons Terry Riley and wife Diane of Pooleville and Jerry Riley and wife Kathy of Enos. She also cherished her extensive family, which includes 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons: Dusty Riley, Shane Riley, Jason "ET" Riley, Paul Poteet, Stephen Poteet, and Colton Riley.
Family visitation will take place on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
