Wilson - Services for Jackie Lynn "Candie" Porterfield, 57, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday May 20, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Candie was born Dec. 25, 1963 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Jimmy Lee Gray and Mrs. Betty Jane (Beck) Gray. She departed this life Friday, May 14, 2021 at her home in Wilson.

Candie was raised in Wilson where she attended and graduated high school. She went to work at Kmart with her best friend, Flora Copeland and soon afterwards married Mike Porterfield. They were blessed with two children, initially residing at Hobbs, NM. Candie worked primarily as a stay at home Mom and was the best mother to her children, always putting them first. She often worked two jobs to support her family. She loved to shop and go dancing. Candie worked locally as a Certified Nurses Assistant and caretaker for Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore. Candie was a past member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Healdton where she was baptized and enjoyed attending with her friend and pastor Jimmy May. Candie was always a fun outgoing person, with an infectious laugh and she could outshop everybody, especially when she was shopping for her grandkids. She absolutley adored her grandchildren and loved being a Nannie,

Preceding her in death are her parents Jimmy Gray and Betty Rich; stepfather, Leo Rich and brother, Deon Rich.

Survivors include her daughter, Kara Michelle Blodgett and husband Jody of Wilson; son, Dillon Kyle Porterfield of Guthrie; sisters, Janie Lee "Cookie" Snow and husband Hoss of Emory, TX, Tina Cox and husband Mike of Loco and Robbie Morse and husband Brent of Wilson; brothers, Jody Rich and wife Leedale of Wilson, Ricky Rich of Healdton and Jimmy Lee Gray, Jr. of Kingston; grandchildren, Addison Blodgett, Jayden Blodgett and Zachary Scott Alexander; numerous other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Jody Blodgett, Dillon Porterfield, Wes Hacker, Terrell D. Tucker, Jody Rich and Hoss Snow.

Honorary bearers are Andy Snow, Jim Blodgett, Ron Copeland, Joseph Snow, Scotty Morse, Alex Rich and Cody Morse.

Family visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
