Jack Wallace Wilburn

July 7, 1927 — October 18, 2013

Healdton – Funeral Services for Mr. Jack Wallace Wilburn, 86, of Pruitt City, are scheduled for 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Healdton Assembly of God Church with Rev. Quenton Newton and Rev. John Harris officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery of Healdton. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Jack was born July 7, 1927 at Oilton, OK to the late Mr. Richard Carlile Wilburn and Mrs. Anna (Dublin) Wilburn. He went to be with the Lord Friday, October 18, 2013 at Healdton, OK.

Jack was raised at Drumright attending school there. He was drafted into the United States Navy and served honorably for 2 years. He and the former Doris Lucille Burris were united in marriage on January 3, 1946 and to this union came 4 boys and 1 girl. They made their home at Drumright and later moved to the Ratliff City area in 1953 following oilfield employment. Jack worked all of his years mostly in the Oilfield and retired as Formen for Texaco Oil Company of Ratliff City in 1985. During his retirement he continued to work some part time as a contract pumper. Doris preceded him in death on April 14, 2006. Later Jack was united in marriage to the former Shirley Chastain on August 28, 2008 at Healdton. In his spare time Jack enjoyed playing golf and bird hunting. He enjoyed being very involved in church and had served as a Deacon of the Pruitt City Assembly of God Church and was currently a member of the Healdton Assembly of God Church of Healdton.

In addition to his wife Doris also preceding him in death is his Parents; Sons, Jack, Jr. and Daniel Eugene; Siblings, Cleddie , R.C., J.T., Dorothy and Genevive.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home; Children, Richard Wilburn and wife Kathy of Ratliff City, David Wilburn of Tulsa, and Twana Parker of Ardmore; Stepson, Mike Chastain and wife Lisa of Ringling; Siblings Juanita Ritchey of Hillsboro, Oregon, Carl Wilburn and wife Eva of Lubbock, TX and Bill Wilburn of Ardmore; Grandchildren, David Wilburn, Jr., Stephen Wilburn, Chad Sherrill, Jackie Wilburn, Paul Wilburn, Scott Sherrill, Tamara Newcomb and Jennifer Higgins; 2 Step Grandkids, Christina and Amanda; 17 Great Grandchildren and 1 Step Great Grandchild. Numerous other family, church family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Scott Sherrill, Chad Sherrill, Stephen Wilburn, Paul Wilburn, David Wilburn, Jr., Jackie Wilburn, Darrell Newcomb and Wade Higgins.

A time of reflection and comfort of friends and family is scheduled from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home of Ratliff City.
