Dixie – Celebration of Life for Mr. Jackson “Jack” Marshall Griffith, 80 of Lone Grove, will be 3 P.M. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Dixie Cemetery, north of Ringling, with family and friends officiating. Arrangements are under the care Alexander Gray Crematory of Ringling.
Jack was born in Ringling to the late Mr. J.M. Griffith and Mrs. Mary Laura (Brock) Griffith on March 29, 1937. He departed from this life on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his residence in Lone Grove.
Jack was raised and graduated High School in Loco. He was drafted into the United States Army serving during the Korean War. After his discharge he returned to this area and began a career in the oilfield. He worked on oil rigs offshore and on land all over Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana. He also farmed and ranched for a living. He enjoyed building fence and built fences for other ranches. Jack resided in the Crinnerville Community for the last twenty years. Jack enjoyed working outside and being around cattle and visiting with his friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Virgil, Tony, and J.W. “Dub” Griffith; sister, Phyllis Carney.
Jack is survived by his wife Margaret Seely of the home; Sons, Hank Griffith and wife Jeanine of Loco, Billy Griffith and wife Cathy of Overbrook, and Cory Griffith of Arlington; Brothers, Leroy Griffith and wife Lynn, Herman Griffith and wife Janis; sisters, Lois Bohler and husband Stewart, Joyce Ellis and husband Marvin, Jean Morris and husband Gary, Karen Wells and husband Ron Abshire; 4 grandsons and 1 great grandson; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends:
