Jack Floyd Gunter

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mr. Jack Floyd Gunter, 79, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Ed Skidmore officiating. Interment will follow at the Keller Cemetery north of Wilson.

Jack was born January 4, 1936 at Wilson to the late Mr. James F. Gunter and Mrs. Hettie "Tyncie" Corrine (Taylor) Gunter. He departed this life Monday September 21, 2015 at his home in Healdton.

Jack was raised in this area and began working as a child doing whatever he could. As an adult he began a truck driving career working the majority of his employment for Vernon Calhoun Packing of Palestine, TX. Jack married the former Ms. Helen Center on May 15, 1981 at Port Aransas, TX. They enjoyed selling indian jewelry together and resided at Rockport, TX until retiring here in 1996. Helen preceded him in death on October 26, 2004.

Jack spent countless hours and miles involved in helping others and most recently celebrated 40 years of freedom.

In addition to his wife Helen, also preceding him in death was his mother - Tyncie; father, James; 2 yr old sister, Dorothy; 4 yr old brother, Tommy and the mother of his children and wife of 20 years, Mildred Marie (Broach) Gunter on October 27, 2000.

Survivors include his daughters, Kelly Lynn Tatro and husband Craig of Healdton, Amy Gail Turlington and husband Kenny of Tatum, TX and Kristina Gibson and husband Joe of Henderson, TX; 5 grandchildren, Amanda, Caleb, Michael, Deven and Bree; 1 great grandson, Boston and adopted sister, Tina Carr of Healdton; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Kenny Burden, Dean Blackwell, Jimmy Mays, Phillip Eggenburg, David Brearly and Sean Dobson.

Family visitation will be tonite from 6 to 8 pm.
