J. C. Muncy

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. J.C. Muncy 76, of Wilson are scheduled for 11am Thursday May 5, 2011 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Danny Huntsman and Mark Eck officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.


J.C. was born June 7, 1934 at Norman to the late Mr. Bernard Ancie Muncy and Mrs. Audie (Stephens) Muncy. He departed this life Monday May 2, 2011 at the Healdton Hospital.


J.C. was raised in Oklahoma City and California graduating from High School at Coachella in 1952. He worked for various company including Sunkist and All American Canal before entering the United States Army in 1957. He was stationed in Germany as part of the 79th Engineers during the Eisenhower administration. He was honorably discharged IN 1959. He and the former Ms. Elizabeth Ann Kirbo Gilliam were united in marriage September 4, 1971 at the Ash Street Church of Christ.


J.C. retired from Michelin after 22 years of employment in 1996. He spent his next 15 years at Antique Booths and Antique Malls in Oklahoma and Texas . He and Ann have both been longtime and faithful members of the Church of Christ and are current members of the Shell Street Church of Christ of Healdton.


Preceding him in death are his Parents, Grandson, Nick Gilliam, and Brothers, Leamon, Ralph, Louie and Sisters, Ilene and Ellen.


Survivors include his loving wife Ann of the home in Wilson; Son, Jimmy Gilliam and wife Cathy of Huntsville, Ala, 3 Grandchildren, Joshua, Mallory, and Emma Gilliam; 2 Great Grandchildren Bryan and Lilah Gilliam; Sister Cathern Collins of Riverside, CA.


Pallbearers are James Nix, Joshua Gilliam, Billy Wilkinson, Bobby Willis, Jim Gilliam, Larry Johnson, and Gary Whitener.
