Irvin was born May 21, 1923 at Perkins, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Bertrand Hardy and Mrs. Viola Esther (Churchill) Hardy. He departed this life Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Ardmore at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 7 days.
Irvin was raised on a Farm in Perkins, Oklahoma. He moved to California during WWII where he worked for a Sheet Metal Factory. Irvin moved back to Perkins, Ok. and married the former Ms. Eva Lucille Jamison on March 24, 1942. The two were married in Stillwater, Ok. and started their family living on the family farm in Perkins. The family later moved to this area in the 1950’s making Wilson their home in 1958. Irvin owned and operated service stations in Velma, Duncan, Wilson, Zaneis for most of his working years with the exception of the years he was working for the County, running a maintainer and hauling gravel. After retiring he enjoyed fishing, attending bluegrass festivals and helping his family. After the loss of his loving wife, Eva, Irvin married Ms. Geraldine Newman on May 21, 2005 in Wilson where they made their home living together.
Irvin is preceded in death by his parents; Wife, Eva May 10, 2003; Two Grandsons, Brian and Darrin; Son in law, Bobby Burns; and his Brother, Doyle Hardy.
Survivors include his wife Geraldine Hardy of the home; daughter Evelyn Burns and Billy Sullivan of Wilson, OK.; two sons, Ronald Hardy and wife Jean Anne of Lewisville,TX and Mark Hardy and wife Deidra of Howe, TX; stepdaughter, Cindy Murphy of Wilson; sister, Norma Lee Dodrill and husband Delbert of Perkins, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ron, Tammy, Nathan, and Shelly; 5 great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and other family and friends.
