Wilson-Funeral Services for Irene Elizabeth Claxton, 78, formerly of Wilson will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Ms. Irene Elizabeth Claxton was born November 22, 1930 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Frank Tadlock and Viola (Dethloff) Tadlock. She passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Irene was born and raised in Wilson and attended school there. She and Boyd Claxton were married March 27, 1948 in Gainesville, Texas. She and Boyd lived in Wilson until 1982 before moving to Ardmore after Boyd’s retirement where Irene was a devoted mother and housewife. Before their move Irene and Boyd loved to go camping at the lake with their friends. While in Ardmore Irene enjoyed giving cookies that she had baked to all of her neighborhood children.

Preceding her in death is her Parents, Frank and Viola Tadlock, Loving Husband of 49 years Boyd Claxton and Sister Bertha Sears.

Survivors include Daughters, Barbara Bradley and husband Richard of Lewisville, Texas and Sheri Pickens of Ardmore, Grandchildren, Ron Hardy, Tammy Hardy and Russell Pickens, Great-Grandchildren, Justin Bowery, Jessicia Bowery, Laura Sulpuski and Kaleigh Hardy.

Pallbearers will be Russell Pickens, Ron Hardy, Richard Bradley, Justin Bowery, Bobby Tadlock and Jim Tadlock.

Family visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2008 from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
