Inez Marie James

Ratliff City- Funeral Services for Mrs. Inez Marie (Henley) James, 86, of Ratliff City are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday October 4, 2015 at the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Williams and Rev. Sid Bazzrea officiating. Interment will be 10:00 am Monday October 5, 2015 at Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Inez was born August 21, 1929 at Big Sandy, TX to the late Mr. George Dewey Henley and Mrs. Essie Vernon (Allen) Henley. Inez departed this life Tuesday, September 29, 2015.

Inez was raised residing at Big Sandy, TX and began working at movie theater and dry cleaners in Gladewater when she was a young lady. While working there at the cleaners she met and soon married Mr. Herbert "Ray" James on April 12, 1948 at Shreveport, LA. They soon moved to Ratliff City, where Ray was from and lived there the rest of their life.

Inez was primarily a homemaker until her children were grown. She then worked at Stromberg-Carlson and then as a cook for the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in Ratliff City. Ray preceded her in death on October 14, 1984. She since has enjoyed being with her family always preparing Sunday Dinner. She cherished her grandchildren and also enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She was a member of the Ratliff City First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband Ray, also preceding her in death was her son, Dean James and his wife Karen and their daughter, Melissa in 1974, and two daughters, Phyllis Ruth Anderson, and Mary Ann Jackson; two sisters, Lena Johnson and Elouise Caple; brother, Jerry Clyde Henley and 3 other grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Raye Davis and husband James of Sardis, AR and Marcia Laverne James and her fiance Chris Foster of Ratliff City; 13 grandchildren, Chuck, Kim, Phillip, "Spanky", Teresa, Kevin, Travis, Tabitha, Buddy, Vivian, Jay, Jason and Bobby Jr.; 34 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Travis Waller, Terry Shaver, Heath Weaver, Jason Fletcher, Spanky Abshire, Chuck Abshire, Phillip Abshire and Kevin Davis.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
