Howard M. Strawn

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. Howard M. Strawn, 85, of Milo are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Jamie Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Newport Cemetery north of Lone Grove.

Mr. Howard Strawn was born October 20, 1928 at Atlee, OK to the late Mr. Walter Sye Strawn and Mrs. Nora Belle (Allen) Strawn. He passed away peacefully at his home in Milo on Thursday August 14, 2014 .

Howard was raised at Atlee and married the former Mary Estelle Denney on July 17th in 1950 at Oil City. He farmed and ranched all of his life but also was employed at the Wilson Fire Department and Carson’s Trim Shop for many years. Howard gained employment in 1978 at the McCrory Ranch in Milo as Foreman and was presently still supervising operations and residing there. He loved the cows and operating the dozer and backhoe. He attended the Graham Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his Parents, Mr. Walter Strawn and Mrs. Nora Belle (Allen) Strawn; Daughter, Mrs. Terrie Ittana (Strawn) Christian and Bothers, Mr. George W. Strawn, Mr. Wilburn Strawn and most recently Mr. Hershel Strawn.

Survivors include his wife Mary Strawn of the home; Grandchildren, Lynn & Lori Christina and their children Matthew, Evan and Breanna; Walter and Jamie Christian and their children Samantha, Dalton, Alan, Ethan, Ittana, Charles and Terrie Jo Christian; Stacie and Lesley Sampson their children Tayte, Kamryn and Caleb Sampson; Sister, Beatrice Harris of Ratliff City and Sisters in law Barbara Strawn of Wilson and Shirley Strawn of Ardmore; numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Adrian Young, Kent Wright, Nathan Christian, Josh Robinson, Willie Lewis and Rudy Stewart.

Honorary Bearers are Keith Wright, Gary Bark, Lynn Christian, Walter Christian, Lesley Sampson, Matt Christian, Evan Christian, Dalton and Charles Christian.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home .
