Wilson- Graveside Services for Mr. Herbert Andrew Horn, 97, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson with family member, Mr. Jimmy Clark eulogizing. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Mr. Herbert Andrew Horn was born April 30, 1917 at Eastman , Oklahoma to Mr. John Bell Horn and Mrs. Rhoda Elizabeth (Peck) Horn. He passed from this life Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his home in Wilson.
Herbert was raised in Wilson attending school here. He married the former Ms. Madeline Lenora Glenn on February 13, 1937 at Wilson. Working in the oilfields they left Wilson in 1941 and moved to Graham, TX where they lived the majority of his working years. They returned to Wilson February 4, 1980. Herbert enjoyed his retirement gardening, playing dominos and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Horn; Parents, John and Rhoda Horn; Two Infant Brothers, Asa and Kenneth; Siblings, J.B. Horn, Lillie Haynes, Almen Dell “Knox”Horn ,Bertha Land, Lola Ciacia and Henry Horn; Son, Curtis Horn and Son in law, David Hooper.
Herbert is survived by his Three Daughters, Christine Hooper of Abilene, TX, Arlene Brown of Ardmore and Helen Musser and husband , Wylie of Terrell, TX; Two Sons, Winfred Horn of Houston, TX and William Horn and wife, Carmen of New Braunsfel, TX; Three Sisters, Maxine Clark of Wilson, Maudine Herrell of Norman and Ella Herell of Bryan, TX; 8 Grandchildren, Mark, Terri, Christie, Trey, Glen, Gabe, Greg and Alissa;12 Great Grandchildren,2 Great Great Grandchildren; Numerous other Family and Friends.
Pallbearers will be Ray Haynes, Robert Glenn, Ronald Taylor, Wendell Bilingsley, Bobby Norton and Mark May.
Honorary Bearers are Dub Haynes, Wayne Brown, Jimmy Clark , Andy Herell and Richard Haynes .
Family visitation will be Monday prior to the service from 11:00 AM ~ 1:30 PM at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hewitt Bomar Point Cemetery Association at PO Box 360 Wilson, Oklahoma 73463.
