A memorial service for Helen Marie Dunn, 96-year-old former Comanche and Loco resident, will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Loco Oklahoma Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loco Baptist Church.
Helen was born February 1, 1922 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Pete and Etta (Goode) Pemberton and died on May 31, 2018. On May 25, 1940, she married Vernon Dunn.
Helen is survived by daughter Barbara Kinder and husband Bob, daughter Carolyn Knight and husband Deral, and son Vernon Dunn; grandchildren Steven and Natalie Knight, David and Tina Knight, Patrick and Michelle Kinder, Jennifer Kinder, and Perry Beaird; and 9 great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vernon Dunn; daughter-in-law Sharon Dunn; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Helen was an active member of the Loco Baptist Church. She enjoyed nature and outdoor life... walking in the pastures, tending her gardens, and feeling the touch of the sun. Other passions were sewing, cooking, and searching for that next antique treasure.
Helen was the wind beneath Vernon's wings. Together, they were successful in campaigns for county commissioner and state representative. She was a strong woman and fought to the end.
Instead of a Renaissance Man, Helen was a Pemberton Woman!
