Hazel Faye Edwards

Lone Grove – Memorial Graveside Rites for Hazel Faye Edwards, 74, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Newport Cemetery with Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Hazel Faye Edwards was born June 26, 1940 to Mr. Walter Baker and Ms. Vella May Edwards at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She passed from this life Friday, September 12, 2014 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Hazel was raised at Joy and Ratliff City. She worked as a waitress for many years and was also a devoted homemaker. Hazel was blessed with four children, Joe Don, Rhonda, Judy and Renae. She loved her husband Del Laverne Basye very much. He preceded her in death on April of 2013. Hazel loved to sew and rearranging furniture. She enjoyed driving and always being on the go. Hazel was a Christian woman and a loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband , Del Laverne she is also preceded in death by her Parents, Walter and Vella and her Grandparents who raised her, Charles Lorenzo and Arizona Belle (Taylor) Edwards; Son, Joe Don Weatherford; Daughter Rhonda Mashburn; Brothers, Charles Edwards and Ronald Thomas; Grandson, Steven Jones; Best Friend , Montie Clark; and Her favorite Dog, Polar Bear.

Hazel is survived by her Daughters, Judy Hadley of Ardmore and Beatrice Renae Weatherford of Lone Grove; Sister, Sandra Kaye Lewis of Oklahoma City;Brother Charles Lorenzo “C.L.” Edwards and wife, Doris of Ratliff City; Step Children, Cassie Basye Wetzel, Lissa Basye Clark, Aaron Basye, Johnny Cooper, Wesley Cooper, Junior Cooper and Betty Cooper; Grandchildren, Katrina, Erica, Sasha, Melissa, Kelsey, Trevor and Chloe; 6 Great Grandchildren; Numerous other Family and Friends.
