Haskell Alvin Grant

Courtney - Graveside Services for Mr. Haskell Alvin "Hack" Grant, 81 of Lone Grove are scheduled for 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Belleville~Bourland Cemetery of Courtney Flatt with Bro. David Gardner officiating.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Hack was born November 11, 1941 in Courtney Flatts, OK to the late Mr. Sherman Hailey Grant and Mrs. Eula May (Huff) Grant.  He departed from this life on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Ardmore, OK. 

Hack was raised at Courtney Flatt, attending school at Turner, where he graduated high school in 1960.  He married the former Ms.  Jo Ann Welch on August 23, 1963, at Gainesville, TX.  They made their home in Courtney until moving to Lone Grove in 1998. At Lone Grove, Hack and his son, Johnnie, opened J & H automotive, working side by side for many years doing numerous mechanic jobs. Before then, Hack worked at the Ringling Public Schools primarily doing bus maintenance.  Hack retired in 2017 and since has enjoyed doing yardwork, mowing and gardening.  Hack was a member of the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Lone Grove.  

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Jo Ann Grant on Dec. 3, 2020; brothers, Harvey and Cotton Grant; sisters, Marie Dewbre, Nelda Bechtol, and Glenda Vinson. 

Hack is survived by his daughters, Anita Bural and husband Alan of Guthrie and Dianna White and husband Chris of Wilson; son, Johnnie Grant and wife Tonya of Lone Grove; grandchildren, Grant Bural and wife Teri, David Bural and wife Shannon, Brittany Douthit and husband Chris, and Bradly Grant and spouse,  Jessica Reynolds; great grandchildren, K.C., Cade, Aubrey Douthit and Anna, Levi Bural; sister, Lana Ball of Fritch, TX, brother, Darrell Grant and wife Linda of Lone Grove; sister in laws, Retha Grant of Ardmore and Jacqueline Grant of Courtney; and by a host of other family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Kalub Miller, Mat Church, Brett Heath, Jamie Tucker, Kolby Robinson, Grant Bural, and David Bural.  

Honorary bearers will be K.C. Douthit, Cade Douthit, Alan Bural, Chris White, Gage Breshears and Chris Douthit.  

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belleville Bourland Cemetery, 34207 Grant Road, Ringling, OK 73456.
