Wilson – Graveside Pavilion Services for Mr. Harold James Champ, 74 of Wilson are scheduled for 1:30 PM Thursday June 13, 2013 at the Bomar Point Cemetery Pavilion at Wilson with Rev. Ellen Abshire officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Harold was born November 6, 1938 at Seminole, OK to the late Mr. Mike Champ and Mrs. Zella Mae (Combs) Champ. He passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Wilson Nursing Home Center.
Harold was raised in Seminole and traveled after school with a Minister doing missionary work. He was employed mostly in the Oilfield and was locally employed as the custodian for the Bank at Wilson for 15 years. He had also worked for Hoss Harvey doing miscellaneous farm work off and on. He played country and western music for the American Legion as a drummer and a singer. Harold married the former Ms. Mary Jordan on August 6, 1998 at Gainesville, TX. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Seminole and locally attended Church at the Assembly of God of Wilson.
Preceding him in death are his Parents; Sisters, Lynn Bailey and Alice Meek; Nephew, Dickie “Byrd” Wood, and Stepson in law, Billy Pugh.
Survivors include his wife Mary of the home; 2 Stepchildren, Joy Pugh of Wilson and Cathy Segroves and husband Richard of Lone Grove; Step grandchildren, Albert, Tara, Dakota and Leo Austin, Aaron, Barbara and Marie Austin, Ty, Elena and Eva Segroves and Adam Segroves; Sister, Susanne Mouser and husband Bud of Moore; Numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Adam Segroves, Ty Segroves, Albert Austin, Aaron Austin, Patrick Campbell, Darrell Wood and Kolbe Wood.
Honorary Bearers are Lil’ Leo Austin and Dakota Austin.
