Velma - Funeral Services for Mr. Harold James Bradshaw, 83 of Loco are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Velma Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating with a private family burial to follow. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.
Harold was born December 1, 1940 in Delano, CA to the late Mr. J.B. Bradshaw and Mrs. Era Christine (Trout) Bradshaw. He departed from this life on Monday, February 19, 2024 at his home in Loco.
Harold was raised as a child of a farm labor family, traveling back and forth from California with his parents to his grandmother Bradshaw where he earned the name "Sonny". He graduated from Loco High School in 1959 as 1 of 12 students. Harold married JoAnn Southerland on August 18, 1959, at Wichita Falls, TX moving to California and resided there for 12 years before moving back to Loco. Harold found employment at Uniroyal for a few years. Working with his brother-in-law, Eddie, they quit at the same time after breaking many records to work in the oil fields around the Loco area. He worked for Vi-Roi Drilling Company, Amsito Oil Company, and was a contract pumper for Kent Pogue until retiring. Harold loved to sing and play music and was an avid golfer.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Barbara Harrison; granddaughter, Danielle Bradshaw; granddaughter in law, Britanie Bradshaw; and great grandchildren, Addison Danielle and Aidan James Bradshaw.
Harold is survived by his wife, JoAnn of the home; daughter, Carolyn Cox and husband Greg of Velma; son, James Bradshaw and wife Julia of Loco; grandchildren, Sheena Quinn and husband Jeff of Velma, Jamie Dan Bradshaw and wife Harley of Loco, and Shanna Cox of Velma; great grandchildren, Rylee and Kleet Quinn, Mason James and Spencer Bradshaw, Jaiden Kittrell, Kailyn Kittrell, Davin Tackitt, and Ruger Tackitt; and by a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Harrison, Rodney Harrison, Danny Harrison, Greg Cox, Jeff Quinn, and Bobby Southerland. Honorary bearers will be all his Golf Buddies.
