Gwendolyn M. “Gwen” Clayburn

Wilson - Funeral Service for Gwendolyn M. “Gwen” Clayburn are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Chaplin Matt Benedick officiating. Interment will follow to Dixie Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Gwen was born May 13, 1938 to the late Wesley D. Latham and Mary Ola “Byram” Latham. She departed from this life on June 12, 2016 in Ardmore at the age of 78.

Gwen was raised and graduated from Wilson. She worked for Wonder Bread for many years until her retirement. Gwen was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Ardmore. She enjoyed fishing and dominos and she loved her family especially all her grandchildren.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her sons Donny Clayburn and wife Marsha of Wilson, Billy Clayburn of Ardmore and Ronny Clayburn of Ardmore, sister Joyce Sipe, grandchildren Jason Blain, Corie Clayburn, Casey Clayburn, Billy Clayburn, Jr. and wife Tammy, Anna Snooks and husband Phillip, Amanda Clayburn, Bethany Clayburn, Jamie Clayburn and husband Cory Martin, Jake Clayburn, Haven Clayburn and Ava Hill, great grandchildren Taylor and Alivia Blain, Ashlynn Salsbury, Brendynn and Addisynn Brewer, Joshlynn Clayburn, Remi and Pacience Sandlin, Jet, Bret and Hanna, Jordann, Jadynn and Jax Martin, Angel Marie Clayburn and great great grandchildren Lanny, Kaden and Diesel.

Gwen is also survived by her special nieces Lois Gibson and husband Verdo, Cheryl Wilkes and husband Carlen, Cindy McKibban and husband Steve, and Anita Wright.

Pallbearers will be Bill Clayburn, Jr., Jake Clayburn, Malcolm Sandlin, Jessie Serna, Jeff Matthews, James Hill, Levie Lewis and Jason Wright.

A family visitation is scheduled for 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
