Guy Richard Scott

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. Guy Richard Scott, 79 are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 19, 2018 at the River of Life Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jim Duck officiating. Interment will follow to Oakland Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Guy was born in Sparks, OK on February 8, 1939 to the late Mr. Burl and Dorothy (Stowers) Scott. He departed from this life on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in Ardmore.

Guy was raised in Sparks, OK near Cushing. He began working at a very young age in the oilfield and soon became a butcher and was a very accomplished butcher for 30 years. Guy married the former Beulah Ann Freeman and to this union, was blessed with 3 daughters, Dorothy, Shelly and Shelia. He was led to the Lord on March 24, 1971 with Bro. Ervin Donaldson at Ardmore. Following that in 6 months, Guy became the minister at Powell and continued to lead people to the Lord in his ministry the rest of his life. He served as the Pastor of several Pentecostal churches in Southern Oklahoma. Guy loved to go fishing and was known to go jugging while it was sleeting.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Burl Scott and Dorothy Hickman; step father, Johnny Hickman; daughter, Dorothy “Dottie” Spells and grandson, Brett Spells.

Guy is survived by his daughters, Shelia Scott of Ardmore and Shelly Brown of Oakland; brothers, J.C. Hickman and wife Kathy of Guthrie and Ronnie Hickman and wife Linda of Cushing; grandchildren, Brandon Hunter and wife Whittney, Aaron Spells and wife Emma, Lynsey Brown, Beau Brown and wife Shaddow; 9 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Hunter, Beau Brown, Bruce Brown, Ronnie Hickman, George Hunter and David Hunter. Honorary bearers will be Ervin Donaldson and J.C. Hickman.

A family visitation is scheduled for Sunday evening from 2-4 P.M. at the Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
