Guy Edmond Kerley

Ringling - Home Going services for Mr. Guy Edmond Kerley, 92 of Ringling, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Bobby Perkins and Doug Hickman officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.


Guy was born May 19, 1926 in the Mountain Home Community to the late Mr. W.J. Kerley and Mrs. Stella Cynthia (Howell) Kerley. He departed from this life on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home in Ringling.


Guy attended school at Mountain Home. He married the former Josephine Yvonne Houston on December 27, 1948 in Gainesville, TX. She preceded him death on July 7, 2010. Guy was most well known for constructing storm cellars and doing concrete work. He was one of the last of his kind, performing concrete work all over Southern Oklahoma and North Texas. Many cellars that he constructed some years back are still in use today. He was also well known for his musical talent with the mandolin, guitar, banjo and about any other instrument with strings. He never took lessons and the age of 14, he taught himself how to play. Guy enjoyed his horses and would always ride in the Ringling parades. He attended the Asphaltum Worship Center for many years.


Preceding him in death were his wife Josephine; his parents, W.J. and Stella Kerley; three sons, Larry James in 1966. Ronnie Lee in 2000 and Guy Lynn in 2005; brothers, Paul, Raymond, and Bud; sisters, Gladys, Inez, and Estelle.


Guy is survived by his daughter, Jolene Mullikin of Ringling; daughter in law, Liz Kerley of Healdton; grandchildren, Jody O'Daniel and husband Michael of Ringling, Bonnie Fowler and husband Jim of Zaneis and Holly West and husband Brian of Healdton; great grandchildren, Jessie, Josey, Karah Jo, Hunter, Kadee Jo, Mackynzie and Karsn; brother, John A. Kerley and wife Laquita of Oklahoma City; two long time employees he thought of as sons, Charlie Cargile of Ringling and Doug Hickman of Fox.


Pallbearers will be all the local coffee drinkers at Speedy G's, R&J's and Moore Drug.


A family visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Sunday August 12, 2018 at Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling. Online condolences may be made to www.alexanderfuneralhome.org.
