Gladys Ruth Hilbers
Ratliff City- Funeral Services for Mrs. Gladys Ruth Hilbers, 79, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 8, 2010 at the Living Word Tabernacle of Ratliff City with Pastor Eugene Christian and son in law Jerry Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Gladys was born April 14, 1930 at Duncan to the late Mr. Dave Elmer Stepp and Mrs. Dulcie Ellah (Moore) Stepp. She went to be the Lord Tuesday Jan. 5, 2010.
Gladys was raised in the Duncan Area. She married Mr. Grady Burl Fletcher Nov. 5, 1945 at Gainesville, TX, and to this union came 1 daughter Frances Fletcher Garrison. Later she married the late Teddy Gene Garrison February 18, 1949 at Gainesville, TX and to this union came two children, Larry Gene and Barbara Darlene. They resided in the Ratliff City area for many years. T.G. preceded her in death on January 2, 1986. She then married Mr. Henry Hilbers September 10, 1988 at Yuma, AZ. He also preceded her in death on December 2, 2006. She then married her present husband Mr. Jack McComber, July 30, 2007 at Gainesville, TX, and they have resided in Ratliff City. Gladys was always working in the Garden and in her flower beds. She was a very faithful member of the Living Word Tabernacle of Ratliff City.
In addition to her spouses, preceding her in death is her Parents, Sister Willa Mae Stepp, Brothers, Elmer, Dave and Leonard Stepp and a great grandson Jake Marquez.
Survivors include husband Mr. Jack McComber of the home, 2 Daughters, Frances Garrison of Davis, and Barbara Anderson and husband Jerry of Ratliff City. Son, Larry Garrison and wife Linda of Duncan. Sister Carol Anderson and husband Floyd of El Paso, TX. 7 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Josh Rushing, Billy Mack Davis, Josh Knox, Leon Wright, Ricky Davis, Charles Davis and Jared Trotts.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home Ratliff City.
