Gerald Ray “Jerry” Ford, Jr.
Ardmore- Services for Mr. Gerald Ray Ford, Jr., 58, of Ardmore are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Ardmore Dragway with Pastor Bobby Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at the McAlister Cemetery in Overbrooke. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Jerry was born on December 14, 1956 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Gerald Ray Ford, Sr. and Mrs. Minni Maye (Bond) Ford. He departed this life Tuesday morning , August 18, 2015 at his home in Ardmore.
Jerry was raised in Ardmore attending school at Plainview graduating there in 1975. His class was very close and remains close to this day. Jerry played basketball for Murray State College for one year. He married the former Ms. Cheryl Nichols on January 24, 1986 at Overbrooke. They made their home in Ardmore where Jerry worked as a manager of the Ardmore Dragway for many years. He loved the outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing, and most of all drag racing. Jerry was always first to lend a helping hand.
Preceding him in death were his Parents; sister, Judy Ford; and nephew, Brad Kluver.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl of the home; three daughters, Shelly Howell and husband Kevin of Ardmore, Jacque Denis’ and husband Jason of Phoenix, AZ, Katlin Ford of Ardmore; one son, Bobby Ford of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Cole Tucker, Kalee Howell, Ashlyn Howell, Haydn and Jace Denis’, Xander Ford; sister, Susie Kluver and husband Hank of Ardmore; nephews, Bob Horn and wife Evelyn, Wade Horn and wife Stephani; niece, Menyon Holliday; and numerous great nieces, great nephews, other family, and a multitude of friends.
Casket Bearers are Ricky Studeman, Jim Stamper, Chuck Arnold, Dave Hammon, Craig Belt, and Will Carrell.
Honorary Bearers are Bill Chaney, Jim Loftis, Greg Nolan, Jim McCaskill, Rick Carrell, Harry Bond, Lonnie Sears, Jim Ragland, Johnny Laird, Bob Rickords, and all friends at the Ardmore Dragway.
Family visitation will be held from 6-9pm Friday evening at New Covenant Fellowship Church in Ardmore.
