Gerald Le Roy Timmons

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Gerald LeRoy Timmons, 71, of Ringling is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday Feb. 13, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Pontotoc Cemetery in Pontotoc, OK.


Gerald was born March 8, 1944 at Connerville, Ok to the late Mr. Elbert Andrew Timmons and Mrs. Gratha Oneta (Edwards) Timmons. He departed this life Tuesday Feb. 9, 2016 at his home in Ringling.


Gerald was raised at Pontotoc and around Ada as 1 of 13 children. He attended school mostly at McLish High. Then he joined the United States Army National Guard on June 4, 1964. He married the former Judy Ann Neill on April 4, 1969 at Tishomingo. They moved to Ringling in 1970, and Gerald's civilian occupation was a brick mason. He layed brick all over southern Oklahoma. He served his country for 38 years 11 months and 24 days in the Army National Guard retiring as a Sergeant First Class (E7) March 8, 2004.

Judy preceded him in death on January 28, 2003. Gerald always loved to fish and go camping. He played the guitar and enjoyed helping his father in law, Otis Neill, on the farm with cattle and baling hay. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Ringling.

Also preceding him in death is his Parents; infant stillborn sister, and 2 other sisters, Betty Hargis and Delphia Goza.

Survivors include his daughters, Terri Fortner and husband Travis and Shelia Timmons, all of Ringling; Grandsons, Brogan Timmons and Carson Timmons; brothers, William Timmons of Pontotoc, Richard Timmons and wife Jean of Oklahoma City, Andrew Timmons of Pontotoc, Leonard Timmons and wife Jimmie of Pontotoc and Paul Timmons and wife Ruby of Fittstown; sisters, Rhonda Russell of Pontotoc, Genevia Byrd and husband Jackie of Owl Creek, Dennia Burke of Oklahoma City, Louise McClain and husband Paul of Ada; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Casket Bearers Michael " Bear" Williams.Jerry Eubanks, Jeromy Eubanks, Dale Eubanks, Rodney Eubanks and Steve Bell.

Honorary Bearers are grandsons, Brogan Timmons and Carson Timmons and all of his nephews.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
