George Robert Taylor

Lone Grove - Funeral Services for Mr. George Robert Taylor, 79 of Lone Grove are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Country Tabernacle Church in Lone Grove with Darryl Howard and Darren Howard officiating. Interment will follow to Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

George was born on the dairy farm on September 25, 1942 in Ardmore, OK to the late Mr. Elmer Lee Taylor and Mrs. Geneva Cynthia (Lee) Taylor. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022 in Denton, TX.

George was raised in Lone Grove attending school there. He married his high school sweetheart, Laquita Ann Howard and they were united in marriage on May 30, 1962 and together they were blessed with 3 children, Lisa, Karen and Gaylon. George had worked in the oilfield for a short while before he was a well-known welder in the area working for Joe Brown for 29 years. In his past time, he enjoyed quail hunting. George enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and he loved his family and church. He was a huge supporter of his grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. George was a faithful member of the Country Tabernacle Church in Lone Grove.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Bryce and Delmer Taylor; sister, Christeen Williams and a son in law, Chad Day.

George is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Laquita Ann Taylor of the home; daughters, Lisa Woods and husband Kirk of Lone Grove and Karen Day of Lone Grove; son, Gaylon Taylor and wife Sherri of Lone Grove; sister, Vivian Ashley of Sapulpa; 8 grandchildren, Amber Glover and husband Gary, Aaron Day and wife Destiny, Kevin Woods, Michaela Woods, Ashlynn Vinson and husband Zach, Katelyn Taylor, Braylon Taylor, and Kelsie Taylor; 6 great grandchildren; a host nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Day, Kevin Woods, Braylon Taylor, Gary Glover, Landon Glover, Logan Glover, and Zachary Vinson.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
