George Henry Morriss

Ringling – Services for Mr. George Henry Morriss, 81, of Ardmore are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion in Ringling with Rev. Terry Tolbert and Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Mr. George Henry Morriss was born July 17, 1935 at Orr to the late Mr. OBD Morriss and Mrs. Bessie (Head) Morriss. He departed this life Thursday, November 17, 2016 at his home in Ardmore.

George was raised in Orr attending school at Ringling until his final year. His family then moved to California for a short time and George completed his high school graduation there. After moving back to Ardmore, he met the love of his life, the former Ms. Daisy Hill and the couple were married on April 28, 1956 in Ardmore. To this union, they were blessed with 3 children, Lorena, Sherrilynn, and Carl “Ray”. George spent most of his working years in grocery stores holding management positions. Daisy preceded him in death on March 24, 2004. George enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. He especially enjoyed his time with them when they were camping. George also loved to play golf and spending time with family. He was loved by all who knew him for his kind and caring nature.

Also preceding him in death are his parents and his son Carl “Ray” Morriss.

Survivors include his 2 daughters, Lorena Hurley and husband Eddie of Ardmore, Sherrilynn Robinson and boyfriend Michael Wells; 6 grandchildren, Dustin and wife Toni, Krystal, Kenna and husband Josh, Kayla, Cody, Laci and husband Ethan; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Joe Morriss; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
