Gene Nipp

Simon - Graveside Services for Gene Nipp, 78 of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Simon Cemetery with Jackie Hartman officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Gene was born May 10, 1944 in Blackjack, OK to the late Mr. Con Nipp and Mrs. Jessie Pearl (Powell) Nipp. He departed from this life on Saturday, July 16, 2022 in Ardmore, OK.

Gene was raised in Simon attending school at Simon, Meadowbrook and Turner. He graduated from Turner High School in 1963. Gene worked in pipeline construction all over the U.S. and was a member of the 798 pipe liners union. He had also worked as a mechanic and farmed for many years. Gene enjoyed taking care of his homestead, going to chicken sales, helping his brothers whenever they needed him and spending time with his family.

Preceding him in death was his parents; son, Andy Nipp; sisters, Paralee Russell, Meady Mae Vernon, Elnora Phillips, Oleta Self and an infant sister, Ida Doreen Nipp; brothers, Claude Nipp, Charles Nipp, Clyde Nipp, and John Nipp.

Gene is survived by his son, Quintin Nipp of Wilson; grandchildren, Andrea Hartwell and husband Justin of Mannsville, Cheyenne Nipp and Tanner Skelton of Wilson, Chelsey Nipp and William Barbour of Wilson, Cassidy Nipp of Wilson and Andrew Nipp of Wynnewood; great granddaughter, Hannah Skelton; sisters, Lorene Montgomery of Marietta, Nadine Goode of Wilson, Carolyn Westmoreland of Ardmore, Linda Sue Williams and husband Warren of Rubottom; brothers, Conver Nipp of North Pole, Donnie Nipp and wife Jeannie of Wilson, and Curtiss Nipp and wife Brenda of Simon; sisters in law, Beth Nipp of Simon and Ann Nipp of Overbrook and by a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
