Gearldine Staggs

Countyline- Funeral Services for Mrs. Gearldine (Ross) Staggs, 79, of Countyline , is scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday May 2, 2012 at the Countyline Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Staggs and Rev. Rocky Keck officiating. Interment will follow at Poolville Cemetery Southeast of Ratliff City. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Gearldine was born August 16, 1932 at Duncan, OK to the late Mr. Emory M. Ross and Mrs. Verna Mae (Gouilding) Ross. She departed this life Sunday April 29, 2012 at a nursing home facility in Marlow.

Gearldine was raised in Duncan attending school there. She married Mr. Sam Staggs February 18, 1949 at Levelland, TX and they made their home together in Countyline. Sam and her resided in Countyline for the rest of their lives. He preceded her in death on March 5, 1997.

Gearldine was a devoted homemaker who loved to cook and read. She was most commonly known as “Granny Grunt” to most of her family. She was a member of the Countyline Freewill Baptist Church where she also served as the secretary and treasurer for many years.

In addition to her husband Sam also preceding her in death are Parents, Grandson, Joe Bingham; Sisters, Shirley and Ruby; Brother, Billy and one son in law, Ronnie Bingham.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Kay Bingham of Marlow; Son Michael Staggs and wife Sharon of Minden, LOUISIANA; 9 Grandchildren, Ronnell, Kelvin, Brianna, Dena, Bo, Julia, Ryan, Justin and Angel; 6 Great Grandchildren, David, Tanda, Ashley, Mark ,Zach and Alex; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; Braxton and Austin. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are David Bingham, Robert McNeil, Jimmy Bingham, Raymond Lumbert, Ronnie Lumbert and Bo Moore.

Honorary Bearers are the members of the Countyline Freewill Baptist Church.

Family visitation will be form 6-8 pm Tuesday Evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
