Wilson - Mr. Gary Wayne Faught passed from his earthly life on the morning of January 30, 2023 at his home in Wilson at the age of 67 years. Graveside services will be held at Bomar Point Cemetery in Wilson on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 3:00 P.M., with Les Hacker officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
Gary was born June 4, 1955 to Paul Newman and Cleta Mae Lesley Faught in Wilson, OK. He was the third child joining his older siblings Patsy, Paul Ray and Sharon and later there were two more brothers born, David and Larry. After his parents divorced, he gained a second mother, Lolita and a sister, Alesia.
During his early childhood, Gary grew up in Wilson, Laverne and Madill, OK and graduated from Madill High School in 1974. Gary moved back to Wilson after graduation when his dad’s job was transferred. Gary soon began his welding career with Independent Tank Company in Healdton, OK and was employed there for several years. He worked a short time for Uniroyal but soon returned to a welding career with Independent Tank Company in Healdton, OK building oilfield battery tanks and other oilfield equipment until the company closed their doors. He relocated to the DFW area where he did contract welding for the Texas Super Collider Fabrication Project. He returned home and began working for V.E. Enterprises in Springer, OK. Later he gained employment with W & W Trailers in Madill where he worked until his deteriorating health led to his retirement.
Gary was a Christian man who was proud of his upbringing and often recalled his grandfather baptizing him in the cold creek water in Big Fork, AR during a family reunion.
Gary had a passion for motorcycles and loved riding dirt bikes in his earlier years. He later enjoyed riding his Harley with his son and friends. He liked to fish and had gone on a few fishing trips with his family. He had a great time reeling in his catch on deep sea fishing adventure in Venice, LA where he celebrated his 67th birthday. Mostly he loved spending time with his family. He adored his beautiful granddaughters and was very proud of them. He was blessed with a beautiful great granddaughter just a few days before his passing.
Preceding him in death were his parents and infant brother, David.
Gary is survived by his son, Michael and wife Amber of Wilson and granddaughters Megan Faught and Tyler of Corinth, TX, Molly Faught of Decatur, TX, and McKinley and Maddison of Wilson, and great granddaughter Dawson Lynn Mills of Corinth, TX. He is also survived by siblings Patsy Russell of Durant, Paul Ray Faught of Ardmore, Sharon Musgrove and husband Leonard of Wilson, Larry Faught of Arlington, TX, his second mother, Lolita Faught of Wilson and sister Alesia Wright and husband Tim of Ardmore, several nieces and nephews and by a host of other family and friends.
