Mr. Gary Gene Smith, of Fox, departed this life on Monday, August 16, 2021 at his residence near Fox at the age of 77 years, 2 months, and 13 days. Graveside services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Graham Cemetery in Graham with Chaplain Matt Benedict officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
Gary was born on June 3, 1944 in Fox, OK to the late Mr. J.C. Smith and Mrs. Helen Jean (Gaither) Smith.
He grew up in Fox and attended school there until graduating with the Class of 1962. After graduation went to work in the oilfield. Gary and Ms. Dorotha Tow were united in marriage on May 24, 1963 in Gainesville, TX. Together they made their home in Fox where they would raise their two children. Gary was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and working on guns. Gary was always proud to show a grandkid how to hunt, fish, or shoot. Mr. Smith last worked for Mack Energy as a pumper. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Gail Davis and a granddaughter RaeAnna Thomison.
Gary is survived by his wife, Dorotha (Tow) Smith of the home; son, Gary Keith Smith and his wife Molly of Ratliff City; grandchildren, Coby Davis
and wife Penny, Erik Davis and wife Kristina, Jake Smith and wife Raeda, Kortnie Smith, Adele Roob and husband David, and Kelli Sexton and husband Peyton; great grandchildren, Austynn, Emalee, Kasen,Tristan,Bubba, Lily, Aiden, Kolt, Tucker, AnnaLisa, Jacie, and River; a brother, Pat Smith of Fox; Many other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Coby Davis, Erik Davis, Jake Smith, Peyton Sexton, David Roob, and Dean Martin.
Honorary casket bearers will be Chris Knipe and Michael Perdue.
Visitation is scheduled from 6-7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
