Velma - Mr. Gail Bryant Sanner, 85, of the Duncan/Velma area passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Ada, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm Saturday and 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday, at Alexander-Gray Velma Chapel, Velma, Oklahoma. Masks are required to enter the building.A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date.
Gail was born in 1935, in Duncan, the son of William Ira Sanner and Bonnie Nell Daniels Sanner. He graduated from Velma High School, Velma,Oklahoma and attended Okmulgee Technical College, Diesel Mechanics in
Okmulgee. He married Wanda Gayle Lansford in 1954 in Velma. He worked first as a truck driver for Halliburton Services Field Camp in Duncan, later transferring as a diesel mechanic to the Mechanical Research
and Development department, retiring in 1992 with 37 years at Halliburton Services. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Duncan. Gail and Gayle moved to the Sanner farm in 1975. Together they raised cattle and farmed the land. He enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Jeff Sanner and wife Debbie of Velma; a daughter, Brenda Sanner of Ponder, Texas; a devoted companion and beloved friend, Ruby McCowan of Velma; two sisters: Freda Templin and husband, Glyn of Oklahoma City; Eva Nan Speaks and husband, Roye, of Coweta; sister-in- law, Pat Lansford Lowe and husband Jerry of Newcastle; three grandchildren; Michael Sanner of The Colony, Texas, Rana Sanner Rochell, and husband, Blake, of Argyle, Texas, and Robyn Sanner McDonald, and husband Mark of Nashville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren: Julie and Loren Sanner of The Colony, Texas, Rhett and Landry Rochell of Argyle, Texas and one great-great-granddaughter, Haizel Miller, of The Colony, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gayle “Blondie”; his parents, William Ira “Bud” and Nell Sanner; and one brother, Burnis Sanner. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Sanner, Blake Rochell, Mark McDonald, Kent Pogue, Gaylan Russell, and Alvin Oliver.
