Freddie "Fred" Miles Way

Wilson - Funeral services for Mr. Freddie "Fred" Miles Way, 78, of Healdton, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday Oct. 13, 2020 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Ricky Way officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Fred was born on Nov. 17, 1941 at Wilson to the late Mr. Frank Jefferson Way and Mrs. Bertha May (Stewart) Way. He departed this life on Thursday morning October 8, 2020 at Ardmore.

Fred was raised within the Reck community attending school at Zaneis. He was the youngest child of eleven, with his father passing away a few years after he was born. Fred married the former Loretta DeLano on June 3, 1961 at Wirt.

Fred worked most all of his years within the Oil field moving from place to place following work until settling at Healdton, where he found work at J.D. Lewis. There he worked many years as a pipeline construction supervisor and later at the ranch until he retired. Fred always enjoyed the cowboy way of life. He had a deep passion for the care and training of horses. When he became unable to ride, he still just loved to sit and watch horses in the pasture. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jeff, Raymond, J.C., Rayford, Robert and Bill; sisters, Juanita Howard, Blondell Dunigan, Mary "Jean" Aubrene Boles and Jo Ann Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Loretta of the home; daughter, Connie Simon and husband Mike of Little City and Marty Way of Healdton; sons, Tony Choate and wife Tanya of Healdton and Miles Way and wife Marty of Blanchard; grandchildren, Benny Fletcher and spouse Janie Walker, Andrea Porterfield and husband Zack, Shaun Choate and wife Mindy, Britley Acox and husband Jeff, Justin Simon and wife Kylea, Shelby O'Hern and husband Ryan, Josh Simon and wife Dana, Trenton Way, Megan Hughes and Tyler Hughes; great grandchildren, Chamberlyn, Wyatt, Jace, Oliver, Lekia, Maleighna, King, Ashdyn, Sailor, Sawyer, Caitlin, Jayda and Remington; numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

Casket bearers are Jeff Acox, Randy Johnson, Bobby Gene Way, William Leasure, Dalton Cain and Buddy Way.

Honorary bearers are Tony Choate, Miles Way, Benny Fletcher, Shaun Choate, Justin Simon, Josh Simon and Trenton Way.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
