Frankie Melbourn Simmons

Wilson- Funeral Services for Mr. Frankie Melbourn Simmons, 81, of Garland, Texas scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Simon Cemetery south of Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mr. Frankie Melbourn Simmons was born March 28, 1933 to Mr. Joe Simmons and Mrs. Jennie Maude (Kite) Simmons at Courtney Flatts, OK. He passed from this life Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his home in Garland, TX.

Frank resided some of his childhood south of Wilson attending school at Orr. He joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict serving on the USS Rogers as a Deck Hand. Frank was honorably discharged on August 18, 1955. He returned to Oklahoma and soon went to Okmulgee Tech where he received his Refrigeration Repair Training. Frank moved to Dallas, TX and soon met and married the former Virginia Ruth Cheatham. They were united in marriage on June 5, 1959 at Hugo, OK. They made their home in Garland , TX. where Frank done refrigeration repair for the Garland School District. When he was not working hunting he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed dancing. Virginia preceded him in death on October 30, 2012.

Also preceding him in death are his Parents; Twin Infant Sisters Lucy and Ruth; Brothers, Alvy, Luke and Albert.

Survivors include his son, James Carlton Simmons and wife, Renee of Corinth, TX; Daughter, Barbara Louise Stone of Garland, TX; Two Sisters, Dolly Fay Raines of Gainesville, TX and Josey V. Foutch of Arkansas; One Granddaughter, Christine; Two Great Granddaughters, Adrianna and Chloe; Numerous other Family and Friends.

Casket Bearers will be family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11AM- 1PM prior to the service at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
