JoAnn (Cox) Hyder
Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Frances JoAnn (Cox) Hyder, 78, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday March 8, 2013 at the Crystalrock Cathedral of Ardmore with her son Johnny Ray Tynes officiating assisted by her grandson Jase Riggs and hosted by Dr. Walt Spradling. Interment will follow at the Oswalt Cemetery in Love County. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
JoAnn was born February 25, 1935 at Oswalt to the late Mr. Bill and Mrs. Eula Maud (Carlile) Cox. She departed this Monday March 4, 2013 at her home in Wilson.
JoAnn was raised at Oswalt. She graduated High School from Greenville and soon after married Mr. Jimmy Ray Tynes on February 5, 1952. They moved to west Texas following Oilfield work before returning to this area in 1965. Residing at Turner they purchased the Turner Grocery Store and operated it until Jimmy passed away. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1968. JoAnn then began teaching headstart at Turner and later at Mannsville. She later remarried Mr. Michael Hyder on June 4, 1982 at Durant. They made their home in Wilson where JoAnn became a well known business owner of the Wilson Family Center. She operated the family center for 24 years, retiring in 2008. JoAnn enjoyed spending time with her family and loved attending church at Crystalrock Cathedral of Ardmore. She also enjoyed the trips traveling with her brothers and sisters.
In addition to the father of her children, Mr. Jimmy Ray Tynes, she is preceded in death by her Parents; Siblings, Jaunita Dane, Delbert Cox, Punch Cox, Aleta Gray, Jack Cox, Hap Cox, Billie Griffin, Sue Chambers and Dean Cox.
Survivors include Husband Mr. Mike Hyder of the home; Sons, Jimmy Tynes and wife Lynda of Burneyville, Johnny Tynes and wife Lawanna of Lone Grove; Daughters, Judy Perren and husband J.P. of Wilson, and Janet Riggs-Marr and husband Chelsea of Lone Grove; 9 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; Sister Faye McComber of Ardmore; Bob Cox and wife Pat of Ardmore and Jim Cox and wife Donna of Plano, TX; Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Grandchildren, Johnny Montgomery, Chance Tynes, Jimmy Tynes, Jacob Tynes, Jase Riggs, Tyler Riggs, Buffy Way, Kerri Westfall and Trinity Montgomery.
Family visiation is scheduled Thursday evening from 5 to 7pm at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
