Fonoma Dorene Powell

Wilson - Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Fonoma "Noma" Dorene (Thompson) Powell, 58, of Wilson are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, Nov. 18,2016 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson.

Noma was born Jan. 19, 1958 at the Eastman Community of Love County, OK to Mr. Donald Drew Thompson and Mrs. Fonnie Maxine (Reeves) Thompson. She departed this life Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at her home in Wilson.

Noma was raised in Love County attending school at Turner. She was the proud mother of her three sons, Aaron, Nathan and Samuel. Most of her working years, Noma was primarily employed as a caregiver and had also received certifications from SOTC for Industrial Electronics and Electric. She was always full of life visiting with everyone and always having a kind comment for everyone.

Noma enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia and Native American Art. She loved spending time at the Lake with her family and friends. Most importantly, Noma had a high respect and care for others. She was always very caring and her true reward in life was making others happy.

Preceding her in death was her Father, Donald Thompson - Oct. 9, 2009; stepmother, Mary Kayrene (Pruitt) Thompson; stepfather, Melvin "Puss" Walker; niece, Crystal Renee Thompson; half brother, Arnold Cornelius and step brother, Michael Thompson.

Survivors include her life partner, Gilbert "Gibby" L. Holder of Wilson; sons, Aaron Gray and finance' Sheri of Wetumka, Nathan Gray and finance' Michael Proctor of Enid and Samuel Edwards of Ardmore; mother, Fonnie Walker of Wilson; siblings, Gerald Don Thompson of Lone Grove, Linda Darlene Thompson of Wilson and Stacey Lynn Erm of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Shelby, Micah, Mayzee and Kayden; nieces and nephews, Michael Don Thompson, Cassandra Lynn Bengfort, Brandon Bengfort and Randy Thompson; numerous other family and friends.

Honorary bearers are Crystal Stepp, Karen , and Shirley Caro
