Flories Gay Herron

Mrs. Flories Gay Herron was born October 1, 1932 in Springer, OK by the late Mr. Bill Herron and Mrs. Zelma Mae (Chapman) Formby. She departed from this life on August 24, 2016 in Ardmore at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 23 days. A private family gathering is scheduled for a later date. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander-Gray Crematory of Ringling.

Flories was raised in Springer attending school there where she was a star basketball player. She graduated from Springer High School in 1951. Flories was a proud parent of two daughters who loved sports of any kind. She served as the President of the PTA in Del City, OK. Dallas Cowboys was her favorite team and collegiately OSU was her favorite. Flories was most recognized for her effort and service in administration at Lakeland Manor for several years before her retirement.

She was known for being the best at crochet, making a wedding dress, and other elegant pieces. She also crocheted intricate dining room table clothes for each of her children and grand children. Her grandchildren were a very important part of her life.

Flories is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Peggy Sue Burge.

She is survived by her daughters, Susie Keen and husband Jimmy of Ardmore and Tina Baxter-Rowten of Springer; sisters, Toni Fry of Heavener, OK and Cathy Formby-Gregory and husband Jimmy of Heavener, OK; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
