Faye Collins Moore

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mrs. Faye Collins Moore, 93, of Ringling are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Ringling United Methodist Church with Rev. Alex Costea officiating. Interment will be 1:30 PM Saturday following the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park of Ardmore. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.


Faye was born April 6, 1917 in Sugden, Oklahoma to the late Mr. A.G. and Mrs. Nola Z. (Vickers) Collins. She was the second oldest of six children and departed from this life Wed. March 30, 2011 at Healdton, OK.

Faye was a member of the 1934 Claypool High School graduating class. She received her accounting degree from Brantley Draughon’s Business College in Ft. Worth, TX in 1937. She was the bookkeeper for Culver Motor Company in Ringling for ten years. Faye married Mr. W.J. “Bill” Moore September 18, 1938 at her family home in Claypool, OK. She worked with Bill at Moore Drug Store on Ringling’s main street until his death May 13, 1967. The store continues to operate at that location. She has been an active member of the Ringling United Methodist Church for 70 years, serving in all of the local offices as well as serving as President of the Ardmore District United Methodist Women for four years. Faye was a dedicated member of the church choir and was conductor of the Jolly Juniors youth choir for several years. As a member of the Ringling Chamber of Commerce, Faye was instrumental in securing the construction of the bridge east of Ringling on Highway 70. Her work was recognized by resolution of the State of Oklahoma Senate and House of Representatives when the bridge was named “The Faye Moore Bridge” in her honor. State Representative Ray McCarter told the joint session that Faye was the only living person who had ever been honored this way. Faye was chosen as the outstanding member of the Ringling Chamber of Commerce and has served as Grand Marshall of the annual Western Days parade.

In addition to her husband Bill, also preceding her in death is her Parents and siblings; Alease Collins Dawson, Robert L. Collins, Don Paul Collins, and Kimmel Collins.

She is survived by her two children and spouses; Donna and Tom Hildebrant and Mike and Kay Moore, all of Ringling. Seven grandchildren; Tommy Hildebrant and wife Cindy, Becky (Hildebrant) Lyle and husband Charles, Jana (Moore) Gandy and husband Tracy, all of Ringling, Mika (Moore) Gerken and husband Craig, Traci (Hildebrant) Royse and husband Bryan, Bill Moore and wife Michelle, and Julie (Moore) McDonald and husband Joe of Ardmore. 19 Great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Grandsons and Grandsons in Law; Tommy Mike Hildebrant, Charles Lyle, Bryan Royse, Bill Don Moore, Craig Gerken, Joe McDonald, and Tracy Gandy.

Honorary Bearers are Mike Brooks, Biff Jackson, and Harry Goodman.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
