Ezrett Louie Parker

June 21, 1925 — March 9, 2011

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. Ezrett Louie Parker, 85, of Wilson are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Dan Medlin officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery, north of Ringling with Military Burial Honors. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.


Ezrett was born June 21, 1925 at Ragtown to the late Mr. Ezra Dan Parker and Mrs. Della Mae (Thronberry) Parker. He departed this life Wed. March 9, 2011 at his residence in Harrah, OK.


Ezrett was raised in this area, living here his entire life, ranching and farming, except for his time served in the Army during WWII. He joined the United States Army March 27, 1945 at Oklahoma City and served honorably until his discharge, Dec. 7, 1946 at Fort Sam Houston, TX. During his military service he worked as a chauffeur mainly for General Macarthur, and also served as a expert infantryman. He received decorations and citations; Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon, Army of Occupation (Japan) Ribbon, Victory Ribbon and One overseas service bar.


He and the former Ms. Ruth Nadine Fulton were united in marriage in 1944. They spent many of years together on their family farm together in Wilson until she passed away on August 7, 1996. He later was united in marriage to the former Ms. Louise Hensley January 7, 2002 at Miller County, AR and they too, resided on the farm in Wilson.


In 1967 Ezrett received Jesus as his savior and entered the Lord’s Army where he served as a minister and pastured the Christ Gospel Church in Ardmore. He was ordained by Rev. Bernice Hicks, Jeffersonville, IN, by the Christ Gospel International Organization for a number of years. His congregation was mostly his family. He loved the Lord and served him whole heartingly. His favorite thing to do was to play his guitar and sing. His life was spent on the farm tending to his cattle, bailing hay, growing crops, welding and mechanics. He was loved by all his children and will be greatly missed.


In addition to his wife Ruth, also preceding him in death are his Parents, Brother, Leonard, Sister, Neva Mae Morgan, Grandson, Darrin Ray Tupin in 1972, and Granddaughter, La Donna Sue Smith, January 19, 1997.


Survivors include his loving wife Louise of the home; 5 Daughters, Linda Elaine Bardin of Houston, Brenda Sue Sharp, Theresa Kay “TK” Gilbert, Glenda Ruth Black, all of Ardmore and Cecillia Ann Sylvester of Marlow. 4 Sisters, Vida Clifton of Lone Grove, Evelyn Mcree and Jean Gilbert, both of Fresno, CA, and Marvell Morrow of Ft. Worth. 3 Brothers, Lloyd Parker of Ft. Worth, TX, E.D. Parker of Bristow, and Coy Parker of Granbury, TX. 13 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.


Pallbearers are Ronnie Florer, Mark Bailey, Dewayne Russell, E.D. Parker, Coy Parker, and Randy Sylvester.


Honorary bearers will be James Copeland, Lloyd Parker, Ted Gilbert, Ben Bailey, and Randy Sylvester, Jr.


Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
