Everett Ashley Mcelhiney

Mr. Everett Ashley McElhiney, of Healdton departed this life peacefully at his residence North of Healdton on Monday, June 8, 2020 with his loving family at his side at the age of 85 years and 7 months. A private family memorial service will held at a later date. Cremation Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.

Everett was born on November 8, 1934 in Frankewing, TN to the late Mr. John Oscar McElhiney and Mrs. Nona Lee (Zinn) McElhiney. He grew up in Tennessee until he was around 13 years old. He then moved with his dad to the railroad section housing where he would grow up admiring the trains and watching them come in and out of the train yards. In 1951 Mr. McElhiney joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country receiving several medals such as the China Service Medal, United States Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal.

Everett married the love of his life Germaine Elizabeth Kuntz on March 10, 1955 in Reno, NV. They celebrated their 65th Wedding anniversary this year. Together they made their home north of Healdton for the past 20 years where they would watch their grandchildren grow up and enjoy many memories with their friends and family. Everett could be found watching documentaries and was always fascinated by Hitler documentaries. He loved animals and taking care of his dogs and cats.

Mr. McElhiney is preceded in death by his parents; son, John Edward McElhiney; brothers, Roy and Clark McElhiney; sisters, Alma, Gladys, Nelly, and Ida.

He survived by his loving wife, Germaine McElhiney of the home; son, Mark Everett McElhiney of Dunsmuir, CA; Debbie Germaine McElhiney of the home; grandchildren, Samantha Sears of Healdton; Tiffany Metzger of Midwest City, Angela Beth Raison of Ft. Worth, Jennifer McElhiney of Elmore City, John Sears of Marietta; great grandchildren, Leilynn Sears, Brentley Miller, John D. Sears III, Aiden Roy Sears, and Braxton McElhiney; Special friends he loved as his own kids Clayton, Amanda, and Skyland Moore. Many other relatives and a host of friends.
