Evelyn Virginia Hacker

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Evelyn Virginia (Cantwell) Hacker, 79, longtime resident of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with grandson Jamie Hacker officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Virginia was born March 28, 1937 at Wilson to the late Mr. Eugene Clayton Cantwell and Mrs. Callie Beatrice (Todd) Cantwell. She departed this life Thursday evening, January 5, 2017 at the Wilson Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Virginia was a native to Wilson residing here all of her life. She married the late Mr. J.L. Hacker on April 4, 1954 at Wilson and they shared almost 50 years of marriage together at his passing on May 8, 2003.

Virginia worked outside the home for 30 years at Super C mart of Wilson as a cashier. Before that she was employed at the Leather factory. She always enjoyed keeping her yard maintained and always took pleasure in having a garden. When the children were young, Virginia enjoyed many camping trips with them but later in life just cherished any moment she could share with them. Her family was always her prized possession. Virginia also enjoyed crossword puzzles and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to her husband J.L, also preceding her in death is her Parents; sisters, Melba McMillen, Wanda Whitener, and Vina Eubanks; brother, Val Gene Cantwell; grandchildren, Angel Pettway, Sydney Hamon, Davin Mercer, Chad Reed, Blair Reed and Gage Reed.

Survivors are her children, Leslie Don Hacker, Debra Gastineau, Randy Hacker and wife Shelly, all of Wilson, Cindy Reed and husband Steve of Ardmore and Terry Hacker and wife Cindy of Blanchard; sisters, Flora Anthony and husband Tom of Ardmore and Dora Jackson of Marietta; 19 grandchildren, Amy, Jamie, Jennifer, Lezlie, Shane, Natasha, Nolan, Keaton, Misty, Dusty, Shelby, Chase, Paige, Natheniel, Kyle, Scott, Coy, Callie and Collin; 27 great grandchildren with 2 others on the way;4 great great grandchildren; other family, Evelyn Cantwell, Maxine Gray and husband O.L., Judy Hacker and Calvin Eubanks; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Grandsons, Shane Dodson, Natheniel Hacker, Nolan Henry, Chase Reed, Dusty Hacker and Kyle Hacker.

Honorary Bearers are Jamie Hacker, Kason Hacker, Scott Hacker, Coy Hacker, Collin Hacker and Keaton Henry.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
