Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. Eunice L. (Gardner) Rapier, 82, lifelong resident of Ringling, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Eunice was born December 26, 1927 at Ringling to the late Mr. A.N. “Bob” Gardner and Mrs. Lela ByRe (Abshire) Gardner. She departed this life Saturday evening February 27, 2010 at Ardmore.
Eunice was raised at Ringling attending school here. She married the late Mr. W.S. Rapier, Jr. July 10, 1946. Eunice was employed initially with her father, Bob working at the Funeral Home as an assistant and later as a switchboard phone operator. She was employed the majority of her working years as a bookkeeper for Vernice Stroud for more than 30 years at Stroud Lumber Yard and also as a personal bookkeeper. In her retirement she enjoyed staying “on the go”, always loving to travel, and spending summers at Lake Texoma camping and fishing. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringling.
Preceding her in Death are, an infant brother, “Baby Boy Gardner”, her Parents, Bob and Lela Gardner, brother, Bobby Gene Gardner, and Husband, W.S. Rapier, Jr., after 49 years of marriage.
Survivors include her sons, Danny Rapier and wife Linda, Jim Rapier and wife Debbie, Steven Rapier and wife Karen, and David Rapier and wife Jeannie all of Ringling. Grandchildren, Michael, Casey and wife Leigh, Tracey and wife Tori, Celesta and husband Kevin, Jason, Steve, Jr., Camillia, Julie and husband Sam, and Samantha. Great Grandchildren, Austin, Kennedi , Kane, Jagger, Jentri, Kael, and Savannah. Two Nieces, Brenda Roberts and Becky Goodman. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rapier, Casey Rapier, Tracey Rapier, Steve Rapier, Jr., Kevin Edwards, and Sam Claxton.
Honorary Bearers will be special friends and family, Sarah Snodgrass, Syble Stanton, Maxine Wolfe, and Melva Gardner. Also grandchildren, great grandchildren and two nieces.
