Funeral Services for Mrs. Eunice Jenette (Edgeman) Shellenberger, 95, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday Nov. 10, 2012 at Rexroat Baptist Church of Wilson with Rev. Monte Dean and Rev. Terry Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Eunice was born November 13, 1916 at Brady, Ok to the late Mr. J.B. Edgeman, Sr. and Mrs. Ida Mae (Hixson) Edgeman. She departed this life Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at her home in Wilson.
Eunice was raised in Dillard attending school at Rexroat and later at Wilson, graduating high school in 1936. She married Mr. Ernest Melvin Shellenberger September 7, 1940 at the First Baptist of Wilson. They were forever sweethearts spending every moment they could with each other. Shell joined the United States Air Force during WWII which took him to Arizona initially and Eunice was able to abide with him. Once he was discharged they moved back to Wilson and began Shellenberger Tank Truck Service residing at Dillard. Eunice worked in retail sales at Brimer Brothers of Wilson . She also worked as the secretary at Zaneis Schools and at Maurice Epley’s lumberyard of Wilson. Her and Shell hosted many charitable events with his music group, Bayou Bottom Boys, where Eunice was always by his side. Shell preceded her in death on May 10, 2007. Till that day they never spent many nights without each other and were always seen out in the public holding each other’s hand.
Eunice had a passion for antiques and junkin. She collected all types of unique crafts, furniture and antiques and had a great talent for decorating her house and landscape. Her love for collectibles and encompassed her life with many friends and associates that she met along the way. She was a devoted member of the Rexroat Baptist Church and was an avid OU fan.
Also preceding her in death are her Parents; Brothers, J.B. “Hook” and Leroy and an infant sister Sybil.
Survivors include her Sister, Patricia Baker and husband Gene of Port Orchard, WA; Nieces and Nephews: James Lynn Edgeman of The Woodlands, TX, Mary Margaret Hileman of Jefferson, TX, Shelly Windham of Ellisville, MS, Gina Ann Hays of Ardmore, Dick Lee Edgeman of Durant, Sherry Vick of Moore, Debbie McEuin of Dillard, Shannon Edgeman of Velma, and Jacqulene Edgeman of Argentina, Rosario; Great Nieces, Chandra Pack of Healdton and Jayme McEuin of Ada; Her Beloved Cat named Flipper who she ever so much adored; Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Ronald “Tuffy” Gunter, Randall Edgeman, Clint Edgeman, Mike Windham, Tommy Hays and James Lynn Edgeman.
Honorary Bearers are the members of the Rexroat Baptist Church.
Family visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home at Wilson.
