Ettie Darlene Daniel

Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Ettie Darlene (Riley) Daniel of Kingston are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Ash Street Church of Christ in Wilson with Chris Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Darlene was swept up in Jesus arms to be one of his most beautiful angels at the young age of 68 years and 3 months on Monday May 9, 2011. She fought a courageous battle w/ SCLC for over 9 months. Never asking why just staying strong and loving her family. Mother was born February 13, 1943 in Ardmore, Oklahoma with her twin sister Lorita to the late Mr. Arthur Ray Riley and Mrs. Ruby Lavada (Bennett) Riley.

She was raised in Wilson Oklahoma where she met, dated, and married her high school sweetheart, Donnie Joe Daniel, on September 8, 1961. She was a freshman and he was a junior. They were rarely apart from that time on. From this union came her proudest achievements, the birth of her three boys Brent, Bart, and Brannon. Other than a brief stint working at Western Electric, Darlene was able to stay at home and raise her boys which laid the foundation for the young men they have become due to her undying love and support.

Survivors include her best friend and soul mate Donnie Joe of the home, her sons Brent and wife Tammy of Konawa , Oklahoma, Bart and wife Stacy of Newcastle Oklahoma, Brannon and his fiancé Melissa of Kingston Oklahoma, grandchildren Riley, Ashley, and Valerie of Konawa, Halie, Dalton, Dillion, and Madelyn of Newcastle, and Kelli, Kolton, Karson, Taylor, and Jody of Kingston, and a slew of friends who loved her dearly.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Author Ray and Ruby Riley and her precious twin sister , Lorita Riley Sullivan.

Donnie and those boys cherished their mamma with a love like no other. She was their hero and Queen. They loved, stood by her, and protected her until the end. She was a truly amazing wife, mother, and grandma. Although our hearts are broken we know she is whole again with Jesus and her loving sissy Lita.

A special thank you goes out to everyone who called, prayed and supported this family during this journey. A loving thank you to her beautiful daughter in laws Tammy and Stacy along with Omar and Mary Dennis for their unwavering love, care, and support. Mamma carried all three of her boys into this world and all three will carry her out. There are no adequate words to express how much you will forever be loved and missed. We will all be together again one day.

Mamma loved to laugh and kept smiling until the end, just the way we wanted it. We love you precious Angel. ~ Your Family
