Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Essie Lorene Tapp, 92, longtime resident of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, June 14, 2010 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Morgan Ashworth officiating. Interment will follow at Leon Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Essie was born May 2, 1918 at Sano, TX to the late Mr. William Critington Kemp and Mrs. Louisa Hennesey (Langley) KEMP. She departed this life Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Ardmore.

Essie has been a resident of this area since moving south of Simon at the age of 6 months. She and the late Mr. Glenn Erskin Tapp were united in marriage March 2, 1932 at Wilson. Essie was always a very devoted homemaker who always enjoyed the outdoors. She loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers and garden. As a Christian she always had a very strong faith and was very family oriented. Essie was of the Holiness Faith.

Preceding her in death is her Parents, husband Glenn, March 21, 2008, son Bill June 4, 1978, Sisters, Faye Shaw and Edna Carlile and Brother Vinis Kemp.

Survivors include her 4 daughters, Celestine Sharp and husband Bob of Lone Grove, Barbara Yarbrough and husband Perry of Sherman, Lou Straughn and husband Glenn of Wilson and Shirley Fitzsimmons and husband Barry of Moore. Son Ray Tapp of Wilson. 14 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are David Mapp, Mark Mapp, Danny Yarbrough, Kelly Yarbrough, Greg Straughn, Kurt Straughn, Kenneth Fitzsimmons, and Brian Fitzsimmons.
