Ernest David Smith

Ernest David Smith, of Ardmore, departed this life on July 24, 2021 in Denison, TX. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

David was born on July 20, 1966 in Bakersfield, CA to Mr. A.B. and Mrs. Carolyn (Bray) Smith.

He spent most of his life in the Ardmore area and attended Plainview Schools where he was involved in wrestling. He also loved to ride bareback bronc.

David worked in the Oilfield for most of his life. He enjoyed working outside and would also help anyone in need.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, E.E. and Iva Smith and David and Vera Bray. Also, brother in law, Kenton Murphy.

He is survived by his spouse Sheila Winberry of the home; two daughters, Kylee Smith of Lane, OK and Jennifer Winberry and husband Brian of Ardmore, and son James Winberry and girlfriend Tova of Ardmore; 4 grandchildren, Gabriel and Evalena of Lane, OK and Gento and Alexis of Ardmore, with one more grandchild on the way; sister Tammy Murphy of Lone Grove; brothers, Rickey and wife Ina of Ardmore, Randy and wife Lisa of Sulphur; parents A.B. and Carolyn Smith of Lone Grove; David had numerous nieces and nephews that he loved so much.
