Enoch Arlon Taylor

Wilson –Funeral Services for Mr. Enoch Arlon Taylor, 86, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday April 16, 2011 at the Wilson Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jim Gillum and Rev Dale Tarp officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with Military Burial Honors. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.


Enoch was born April 26, 1924 at Wilson to the late Mr. Edgar Jackson Taylor and Mrs. Lula Margaret (Money) Taylor. He departed this life Tuesday April 12, 2011 at the Ardmore VA center.


Enoch was raised south of Wilson attending school at Post Oak and Simon. He married the former Ms. Willie Joyce Williams October 25, 1943 at Frederick, OK. He joined the United States Army October 30, 1945 at Searsport, MO during WWII and served honorably in Central Europe as a military policeman. He was honorably discharged December 16, 1946 at Ft. Benning , GA and received 3 bronze stars for his dedicated service. Enoch returned to Wilson and worked all of his working years in the oilfield. He was always very active in the community of Wilson and enjoyed fishing and coon hunting. Enoch was a devoted member of the Wilson Assembly of God Church.


Preceding him in death are his Parents, and wife Willie, May 25, 1999; Brothers, A.C. and Harlon; Sisters, Edith, Thelma, Artie, and Una and 2 other infant siblings.


Survivors include 5 Daughters , Barbara Brown, Carolyn Glenn, Vicki O’Daniel and husband Mike, Gwen Howell, and Rhonda Stearns and husband Kevin, all of Wilson. Son, Donnie Taylor and wife Kim of Wilson. Sisters, Betty Forsythe and husband J.L. of Sanger, TX, and Valetta Alderman and husband Ray of Salem, VA; Brothers, Garlon Taylor of Edmond and Erbie Taylor of Wilson. 16 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandson. Numerous other family and friends.


Pallbearers will be Terry Norton, Jay Norton, Brad Glenn, Carl Bishop, Michael O’Daniel, Steven Thompson, Jeremy Thompson, Arlon O’Daniel, and Chris O’Daniel.


Honorary Bearers will be Ronnie Joe Stearns, SR., Dale Vernon, Mike O’Daniel, Kevin Stearns, Mark Idleman, and Ricky Ortiz.


Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
